ISRAEL

My first thought is about the many reports of how Israel is continuing to be shunned and marginalized more and more as time passes. Eventually, no nation will stand with them, including ours. Worse yet is the manner in which the Church is turning its back on Israel in various ways. In particular, the Millennial Generation who are fast becoming a majority in our church bodies. Polls and surveys taken express the distressing reality that instead of Millennials embrace those who wish to destroy Israel. While Israel are far from perfect and often reflect positions to be concerned about, Millennials have simply never been taught or have ignored the biblical truth that imperfect or not, Israel still has a part to play in God’s end-game and its people are still God’s chosen people, the apple of His eye. It is our responsibility as Believers to understand where they are in God’s plan and to pray for them. It is also a disturbing, horrible, and also prophetic fact that Israel will be completely abandoned as we draw near to the culmination of eschatological events.

THE REMNANT SHRINKS

It appears that the continued slide away from biblical truth in our churches, schools, and denominations is worsening by the hour. I wish I had better news but the predicted end-time apostasy is underway and I shudder when I think of where it is apparently leading so many. While I have mentioned this many times in preaching and in print, as the darkness overtakes those who may identify with Christianity, the true Remnant will continue to shine and do so brighter than before. After all, as darkness sets each day, lights do increasingly stand out as midnight approaches. For this world and its inhabitants, midnight is almost here. Let your light shine Church.

CONDUCT BEFITTING OF OUR CALLING

Next, the general tone of respect and dialog in the culture has digressed so much and so quickly that it is nearly impossible to maintain civility in discussions regarding ideology, politics, and worldviews. One glaring reason is the rise of harsh rhetoric politically. While it is good that the majority of the news media’s leftist and immoral slant is now plain to be seen, it has emboldened growing numbers around us to adopt a caustic attitude towards those they perceive as - or are driven to believe are - enemies. Instead of expressing disagreements in a way to persuade or convince others as to why they believe their particular viewpoints are correct, it is now a game of desecrate and destroy your opponent in any way possible.

As we have seen coming for some time, if one doesn’t have an argument to present, then name-calling or besmirchment of an opponent’s character are resorted to. Just frame your opponent with mud. Dig up some tidbit to slander and shame them with. Whether accurate or not, twist and turn and don’t forget guilt-by-association to assassinate the character of a challenger. Then when all else fails, fall back on the tactic most often used today - just claim they are a homophobe, a racist, a womanizer, or worse, a Republican. Then, true or not, repeat the accusation again and again until more are convinced and begin to join in with the desecration. Both the right and the left are guilty of this and no one appears to be completely immune from this strategy.

Discussion without slander seems nonexistent today and truth is of little matter as long as you appear to have conquered in the eyes of those who embrace your position. I have to constantly remind myself and others to allow the Bible to do my talking whenever possible. It is an hour when fallen human nature often rides in and works its rotten ways convincing the righteous to fall into the trap of thinking and acting like the devil. Hard as it may be, your best to see those who promote evil as simply doing what they have been taught and following the spirit of the age, which is demonic. When we face those who spew venom at us can we honestly say, “Father, forgive them…” ?? Remember Who you represent.

TECHNOLOGY: A CERTAIN MARKER OF THE END OF DAYS

Lastly, after 16+ months of researching the advancement of technology, I am convinced of several key points that I bring out in the extensive soon-to-be-released two DVD/booklet set “Home Invasion: The Rise of Surveillance Society.” One key point is that without the many achievements in tech that we could not accurately state that we are living in the very end of the end-times. In particular, the use of surveillance in numerous ways around us. Social media is but one vehicle and the public seems generally unaware of the means by which every life is being tracked in multiple ways.

While today we are told that surveillance of our communications is being carried out as a trade-off so advertisers can market products and services to us or that its being done for our safety and wellbeing. However, the fact is that some day in the near future, the interconnected system of cameras and electronics that many herald as the epitome of man’s creative abilities will turn against humanity. Though we do not know the names or exact details, we do know that the heart of man is wicked and deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9) and from the beginning of mankind, one dreadful flaw is his quest for control, usually over other men. As long as man defies God the scenario of George Orwell’s “1984” fiction is fast becoming reality before our eyes. Skeptics must see part of my research concerning China and also Venezuela. The Social Credit system meant to control the thoughts and actions of the Chinese people is being enforced largely because of the 176 million CCTV cameras already in place. Now Beijing is exporting that technology and equipment to President Nikolas Maduro, the strongman dictator who has decimated the once-rich country of Venezuela. Those two nations alone provide a glimpse of what is coming.

This network of surveillance is ready-made for the Man of Sin. His coming cannot be far off. This is happening as the old guard (us) fade in numbers and the “new evangelicals” rise. It is a perfect storm of losing those who are aware of prophetic things and watching for Christ’s coming while Millennials and the even larger Generation Z come to prominence. When we are gone many in those generations who have little or no understanding of prophecy will fall victim of what they have been taught by their leaders - Kingdom Now theology, Replacement theology, and the “feel good” gospels which represents only partial truths at best. (Col. 2:8, Isa. 30, especially verses 9-11, etc.)

For us as Believers however, this string of bad news is actually really, really good. Prophetic biblical signs are all around us announcing the end of the age. Signals abound that we are surely living in the time just before the return of Lord Jesus. However, until He comes for His Church, it will be a treacherous time of increasing distress for the world and for anyone who trusts in anything besides God and His Word.

Jesus said, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” – John 9:4

I pray we are not immune to hearing that we must work now while we still have light for darkness is coming. We possess the only hope! Let’s follow the example of the Master and do the work He left us here to perform. God help us to do so! Praise the Lord!
