Tonight I am in Arkansas where I preached a series over the weekend on an apologetic defense of the "Death, Burial and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus." It went great!

Tomorrow I head for Chicago to address to Chicagoland Church ministries Convention.

ON THE WEB

A few weeks ago I sent our list the first part of a series I am writing called "The REAL Purpose of the Church." Time and travel have simply not permitted me to get part two ready to load to the website and email to you but its coming. I have also developed a hard-hitting seminar on this issue. Along the way, I've found that I'm not alone in my concern and assessment of the Modern Church Growth movement and some of the questionable practices and beliefs. Frankly, much that is happening in the name of "church growth" is actually ANTI-Biblical and counter productive to the cause of Christ. As I'll be outlining in articles to come, just because we are drawing big numbers to church doesn't mean that we've made disciples! (See my "quote of the month" below.)

There are however several new articles in the Information Center on the website. Please take a look around and make use of the many resources available there.

Note from Eric: I don't know Michael Spencer but I sure like him. We sorely need "tell-it-like-it-is" pastors in this mixed up world today! They're certainly not in the "Seeker-Sensitive" and "Modern Church Growth Movement" - that's for sure! How sad that so many church leaders - who could make such a difference - are so reluctant to speak the truth as congregations spiritually starve each week from the effects of what is nothing less than a "different gospel" (II Cor. 11:3-4).
