Personal Ministry Report for the friends and
partners of Eric & Melanie Barger

As you may know Melanie and I were on the road from late February until this week. We saw God move to educate, convict, deliver and restore many folks as I ministered in local churches and in four conferences across the U.S.

Now that we are home however, the reality that we have not been able to mail a regular printed newsletter to our subscribers in three months is beginning to take its toll.

We humans are greatly effected by what is actually in front of us visually with at any given moment. This has never been truer than it is in 2004. Unless we are regularly mailing newsletters to our list our income drops substancially. After 21 years in this ministry I know that we must continually place our needs in front of our supporters or else the ministry suffers. This has nothing to do with faith. It is just a simple fact.

The truth is that we have had great faith to operate our ministry without a "paycheck" since Jan 1, 1985 when we went full-time in this apologetics ministry without any outside funding to see us through us. We trusted God to meet our every need then and we trust Him now in an even deeper fashion. The stories of how He met every obligation and has sustained us are awesome indeed.

I wanted to be actively raising the funds to purchase a much needed ministry vehicle this month. Our 1996 van will only go just so many miles and we are just about at the limit. However, we are $2,500 behind on paying our printer and other suppliers and I am off the road for another 15 days before any offerings are taken at our "live" seminars to meet any of the needs. The ministry, like life today, is expensive and as I have often mentioned we need to raise about the same revenue each month that three families living in a major metropolitan city need just to see our ministry and personal needs met.

Classically, emails like this one do not bring in much financial help at all. They do serve as a great tool to remind you of who we are and what we are doing and to communicate vital ministry information to our subscribers. However, I am praying today that this email will break that pattern and will be the catalyst needed to see the current needs met.
