Former rock musician says...
Dear Eric,
I am a former rock musician who came up through the Haight Ashbury and had some albums on
Major labels in the 80's. Our testimonies are very similar. I was gloriously saved in
1984, went to Bible college and have been a worship leader/pastor/teacher since then. My
wife and I want to encourage you to keep telling the truth. Isn't it amazing how when you
come out of the big lie, the truth is so obvious. It is very painful to watch the church
buy into "every wind of doctrine" when the simple instructions of Christ were to
preach the gospel, make disciples, baptize them into the Father Son and Holy Ghost, and
teach them to do what we have been taught. That's what my wife and I do and it has cost us
dearly, but we will not do it any other way. Blessings on you Eric.

Shocked by Freemasonry...
I am sure glad that I found your website. I had an opportunity to go with
a friend to an Eastern Star installation. I was shocked to say the least. I have had
family members involved in this going way back, but never went to any functions. As a
Christian I sure felt out of place and thought that the ceremony
was pretty odd, and the first thing I thought of when I saw the star was the pentagram. Of
course several people invited me to join, but that will never happen and I will never go
back. I would rather sit in Church with Jesus. So I believe God lead me to your site, and
I printed out information to help. WOW! thank you for making this kind of information

Struggling with Halloween...
I am so glad that you put it out there for us to hear how it really
is...all too many times us as Christians (that say we love Christ) ignore the should be
obvious. I have been struggling with Halloween for several years. I did however take mine
trick or treating last year, but definitely decided not to this year or the coming years.
It is hard to get away from all the parties though when you have children.
We did have a "Fall Party" that seemed ok. I am not even sure about that, but I
do not want to push my girls over the edge.
We did not dress up at all, just played some cute games and shared
candy...what are your feelings on that? I don't want anything I do from here on out to be
an abomination to my Lord! I definitely don't want to invite evil into my home....not even
with a jack-o-lantern.
Some of my friends and family think I have gone too far..."it is just
innocent fun". I know you have heard that before, but that is when evil likes to
creep in, right?
Anyway, thanks for your uprightness and clear thinking that comes from the
HOLY SPIRIT!!!!!!

Eight year old enthralled with
Harry Potter...
Thank you for your commentary on Harry Potter. I have an 8-year-old
granddaughter with nominal Christian parents. My granddaughter is enthralled with Harry
Potter watching the movie at least twice a week. From the get go of this phenomenon, I
have been one of the VERY FEW I know who have taken a stand against it. My kids go to a
Christian school and all the kids are reading it even a church elder's kids.
The only scriptures I stand on are the ones in the OT about witchcraft. That seems to do
it for me -- but I wonder why so many Christians don't think that's enough.
Thanks for being there. I look forward to your newsletters. It's difficult to take stands
-- but you know what -- I LOVE IT! What I hate is my mind doesn't retain the ammunition!

If you haven’t
read Dan Brown’s blockbuster bestseller, The Da Vinci Code (DVC) or seen the movie,
then you are probably wondering why all the fuss?
Though promoted as
a novel, the book persuasively presents an intricate conspiracy theory that is nothing
less than a direct attack upon recorded history, the authenticity of the Bible, the deity
of Jesus Christ and Christianity itself.
But it’s just
a novel, right?
Though Brown has
woven a fable - based completely on conjecture and myth – he announces on an
introduction page headed “fact” that “All descriptions of artwork, architecture,
documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate.” It is for this
reason that concerned Christians must be
prepared to answer the assertions of The Da Vinci
Code.
Though the book has
been vigorously defended as “just a novel,” I suggest that Brown simply cannot
have it both ways. The crux of the story cannot be presented as fact, and then, when
controverted with evidence, be defended it as mere fantasy.
It is certain that
the allegations leveled in the DVC have set the stage not only allowing informed
Christians to set the record straight by educating many about the historical core of our
faith but Dan Brown’s fantasy has also provided a terrific opportunity to reach the
lost with the Gospel. Let’s do it!
