Bill Clinton and Rush Limbaugh: The Two Men who Need Our Prayers Most!
By Eric Barger
The two men that we should be holding up before the Lord are liberal President Bill Clinton and conservative talk show host, Rush Limbaugh. True, they are a politically strange pair to single out, being so dissimilar that even trying to put them together in the same sentence may be mental gymnastics. Clinton, whose liberal programs drip of socialistic globalism and Limbaugh, the conservative media personality heard daily on over 600 radio stations nationwide with a new highly rated syndicated TV show are anything but alike. However, if there were no other reasons, the mere positions these men hold - Clinton, as President of the most powerful country in the world and Limbaugh, the most listened to person in the history of radio, who is undoubtedly THE voice of the conservative right today - single them out to head the prayer list of every Christian today. Heres why.
Clinton...
First, we must continue to lift up our President to the Lord. Tragically, some Christians are not bothering to pray for Clinton based solely on the fact that he and his policies stand stridently opposed to biblical and conservative values. True, Clinton, his programs and the orientation of virtually every key member in his administration signal T-R-O-U-B-L-E for biblical, freedom-loving, patriotic, enterprising individuals. I outline this in-depth in our video tape, "The New World Order Under Clinton: What Will Happen?" As much as I am vehemently against the Clinton economic plan, his New Age orientation, potentially disastrous ecological positions and his constant moral and ethical waffling, I am called by the Lord to pray for him. So are you. It is essential to pray for him. He is a soul for whom Jesus died on Calvary and he is the elected leader of our nation whom God has allowed to take office.
Tragically, I sense that many believers are not praying for our leaders. Neither apathy or just plain dislike of Clinton and his policies are good reasons not to pray for him. There are no "good" reasons...we simply MUST pray for him. Scripture teaches that the prayers of the righteous avail in Heaven. (James 5:16) It is certainly within Gods repertoire to change the heart of the king. The Old Testament is replete with accounts of God dealing directly with the leaders of nations. He did it then; we need to beseech Him to do it again today. Though I may speak out in every way possible, sounding a warning of what is to come under his administration, I am bound as a Christian to lift his name, his wife Hillary and daughter Chelsea, Vice President Gore and family, their cabinet and staff to God each and every day. Obviously, they need help in the worst way.
Praying amiss...
It is key to understand that we have been conditioned to accept as fact that Clinton and Gore are Christians. Though we are not to be the judge of the hearts of men, we are to judge their fruit and in the case of the new administration, it is sorely lacking. The agenda - not the rhetoric - adhered to is the only test by which we can judge whether they are what they say they are, that is Christians. Remember, anyone can claim to be a Christian. If, by some stretch of the imagination, Clinton and Gore have actually accepted Christ as Savior, they have certainly abandoned the Bible as their guide with which to govern us. Truly born-again Baptists must be shuttering about now!
How must we pray?
First, pray for their souls. If we desire to see anything (and everything) concerning the present leadership change for the better (i.e. abortion, gay rights, globalism, economy, etc.), they need a "heart change" above all. Second, open your Bible and read the book of Jonah. History records that when the government leaders of the city of Nineveh repented before God, He in turn repented from the impending annihilation of the city in retribution for their wickedness. He gave them more time. This is the way we should pray for The United States (and Canada) - that God would turn the hearts of our leaders to Himself and then bring national repentance. Let me say it again - WE NEED AN ACT OF GOD IN AMERICA! Open repentance by our leaders (political, religious, business, etc.) may be the only thing left to stave off otherwise disastrous consequences in our land. Otherwise, the election of Bill Clinton and Al Gore has all the earmarks of being the most disastrous event, with the farthest reaching implications, in modern times.
Limbaugh...
Like many of you, I listen to, watch and, for the most part, enjoy Rush Limbaugh regularly. With so little else on radio and television even vaguely resembling a conservative point of view, he has been a refreshing and entertaining change. Though careful listening does not lead one to believe that Limbaugh is a believer in Christ as personal Lord of his life, he certainly is not anti-god in his ideology. In fact, I once heard him give an accurate and extremely eloquent defense for biblical creationism that would more than meet any born-again seminary professors approval. He is an advocate of the Ten Commandments, is avidly pro-life, is anti-hyper environmental, views "special" gay rights as absurd and is pro-family. As time passes, I am more disturbed by his language. The once hilarious self-adulation has grown increasingly hollow and most glaring is the apparent lack of a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord of his life. For all of us who love the Lord and who have come to love Rush Limbaugh, the most important question remains - where will Rushs soul be when this life is over? This, along with understanding the great accomplishments he could be capable of under the influence of the Holy Ghosts power, and need I say more in adjuring you to pray for his salvation?
I am even more deeply concerned about another aspect of Limbaughs reasoning and influence. It doesnt take long to see that he views the classic liberal versus conservative argument as the only political ideological battle. Though there is certainly much to say for conservatism (and he says it as well as anyone ever will), he has simply chosen to ignore the overwhelming evidence concerning the threat of globalism. Any call to his program mentioning the intentional sculpting of a New World Order or its advocates is dismissed in a cacophonous manner as a "wild conspiracy theory." Whether he really sees no threat to our sovereignty by the globalist insiders or not, I cannot say. What we do know is that he publicly rejects any hint of confederate globalism, believing that it holds little or no threat or meaning to personal or national autonomy.
To my knowledge he has never exposed the United Nations as the public arm of the New Age globalists. Nor does he seem to have any apparent problem with organizations such as the Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission. It should be noted that two of Rush Limbaughs regular advertisers, magazine editors William F. Buckley (National Review) and R. Emmet Tyrrell (The American Spectator) are CFR members. Though both Buckley and Tyrrell appear to be basically conservative, their affiliation with the Rockefeller founded CFR is a genuine concern to anyone aware of that organizations clandestine purpose and intentions.
A worst case scenario would be that Limbaughs name would appear on future membership roles of the CFR and/or TC. Being a very perceptive and intelligent man, it is hard to believe that Limbaugh hasnt investigated the "insiders." Having done such investigation myself, I believe that a person of average mental capacity would have to make a conscious choice to ignore fact and reason, to deny the existence and pervasiveness of the globalists and their network of power. It would seem that whether for political status, financial, or other unenunciated reasons, our man Rush finds nothing curious about the CFR and TC. Come on, Rush! Not only are we pulling for you to meet the Savior, but how about addressing what amounts to Americas real problem? How convenient for the globalists that he would keep the conservatives focused on pertinent but certainly less imperative issues than the well-oiled world government movement. One can only conclude that he (a.) honestly sees no threat (b.) is ignorant of the facts (c.) is playing down globalism because it is a political no-mans-land to oppose it (d.) is himself a player in the conspiracy.
God forbid that Rush Limbaugh would become a full-fledged stooge for the New World Order, but his refusal to publicly recognize it is indeed serving the establishment insiders purposes well. Yes, for the most part, we agree with Rush and appreciate much of what he says, but if we accept what he presents as the whole picture, we stand to miss the real problem. His ideology makes sense to those uninformed of the coming New World Order, but to you who are aware it simply doesnt wash. Pray that he will come around and stop diverting his huge audience of Christians and conservatives away from the most important of all arguments today - the one of globalism versus Christian freedom and national sovereignty.
